Featured listings
Ordinary listings here are free and always will be. A featured listing puts your business at the top of a category page, marked as featured, above the alphabetical list.
What it is
- Top position on one category page — a cuisine, an occasion, or an area
- Marked "Featured" wherever your listing appears
- A short line of your own wording on your listing
- Cancel any time by email, effective at the end of the month you have paid for. No phone call, no retention offer.
What it is not
Paying does not change what this guide says about anyone else. Nobody's listing gets removed, demoted, or written about differently because a competitor paid. Featured listings are labelled so readers know exactly what they are looking at. A directory that hides that is worth nothing to readers, and a directory worth nothing to readers is worth nothing to advertisers.
What it costs
Rates depend on the category and are quoted with that page's actual traffic — how many people saw it in the last 30 days and how many clicked through to a caterer. If those numbers are too small to justify the cost, they will say so.
Email hello@austincateringtx.com with the category you're interested in and you'll get the current numbers for it.
Why it's priced against traffic
ezCater is reported to take around 15% of each order it sends a caterer, according to a DirectOrders analysis of its commission structure — that is their figure, not ours, and it is not a number we can audit. On a single $800 office order, 15% is roughly $120 — once. A featured listing is a flat monthly cost that doesn't scale with what you earn from it. That comparison only works if the traffic is real, which is why the numbers come first.
